The Storm Prediction Center has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch #72, which is in effect for portions of southwest Iowa, northeast Kansas, northwest Missouri, and southeast Nebraska until 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Primary threats include:

  • Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to two inches in diameter possible
  • Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 MPH likely
  • A tornado or two possible

Summary: Scattered thunderstorms will continue to intensify across the watch area, with the strongest cells posing a risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts. An isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
